inky:
From geociti.es:
Late, lamented Geocities. A provider of free web hosting since 1994, it grew to be the third most browsed site on the internet, before being bought by Yahoo! in 1999. From there, it was rebranded, shifted around, and ultimately met its demise in October of 2009. Upon hearing of this, a band of people calling themselves Archive Team spent months downloading copies of as many Geocities sites as they could, and will be doing their best to make sure this history will be saved for as long as possible.
Yay, no more sorry excuses for bad websites. And boohoo we were all there once.
#41 The usefulness of reference pages at the front of diariesWell, the problem is, do we even still use diaries? That said, I used to be fascinated by the reference pages.
If anyone still digs out their diaries to check what time zone Lisbon is in, or how many litres there are to a gallon, we don’t know them.
